Is iPhone 15 Max worth it? ›

Lots of smaller improvements add up to create an excellent phone. Apple's new iPhone Pro models have been improved across the board. They're better in almost every way, and the new USB-C port is a very welcome addition.

The differences in the models are size-related, with the Pro using a 6.1-inch screen and the Pro Max with a 6.7-inch version. The resolutions also massively differ, with the Pro at 2,556 by 1,179 pixels and the Pro Max at 2,796 by 1,290 pixels. Both have a pixel density of 460 pixels per inch.

Like the cameras, the performance of the iPhone 15 should also be a lot better than the iPhone 14. Apple includes its A16 Bionic processor in its latest phone, which gives you faster everyday performance, better graphics performance while gaming and improved efficiency.

Apple stopped including charging bricks with the iPhone 12 in 2020, but the 15 and 15 Pro do at least come with a short C-to-C cable in the box. To get the fastest charging speeds on an iPhone 15, you'll want at least a 20W USB-C charger.

Don't get me wrong, that's still really good—I was using the phone heavily that day—but I was expecting better. Here's where the larger iPhone 15 Pro Max shines. The 6.7-inch size allows for a bigger battery, and at the end of one busy day, I had more than 35 percent left with nearly six hours of screen-on time.

The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are both incredibly good phones, but the real thing it comes down to is how much you are staring at your phone. If you are a power user who wants the most out of your device, then the iPhone 14 Pro Max is the one to go for.

Even though both the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max include a 48-megapixel main camera, only the larger Pro Max model gets a 5x optical zoom with a "tetraprism" design that refracts light multiple times.

You should stay using iOS 15 if: Restrictions on your device from a third-party prevent you from updating. You are concerned about an app or accessory not yet being supported in ‌iOS 16‌. You are concerned about bugs and prefer to remain using an older OS that has had over a year of bug fixes.

Is iOS 15 a good upgrade? ›

iOS 15 is a mature operating system, and these updates were purely security-focused, so disruption to the core code was minimal. If you are still running an iOS 15-compatible device that is not eligible for iOS 16 (or Apple will now force you upgrade to its latest operating system), then you should update immediately.

The iPhone 14 Pro measures 6.1 inches, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max is taller at 6.7 inches. This larger and brilliant display is fantastic for playing games, content consumption, and more. However, it does add to the overall weight of the phone.

Obviously, the biggest reason to update right away to iOS 15 is to get all those cool new features. There's a lot of new stuff in FaceTime including different microphone focus modes, a new layout, and links for others to join your FaceTime conversation from the web on other devices.
